This captíkʷɬ "How Names Were Given" is told in the traditional nqilxʷcn language by OIB Elder Sheri Stelkia and in English by OIB member Jenna Bower.

captíkʷɬ are oral narratives that the sukʷnaʔqinx (Okanagan syilx People) live by. These narratives offer teachings and important values and are traditionally told and shared by elders or knowledge keepers of a nation.
