Rappelling in the Desert: Adventure Dynamics
The Experience:

Nk’mip Desert Cultural Centre is proud to introduce it’s newest attraction: Rappelling in the Desert! Partnered with Hoodoo Adventures, the centre provides the exclusive opportunity for visitors to get a birds eye view of the desert and Okanagan Valley, a novel tactile experience with the desert environment, and is guaranteed to get your adrenaline going.
The excursion begins with a 20 minute morning hike – in a race to beat the summer heat! – on a new trail winding through the desert, upto our rappell site. Upon reaching the site, Chief’s Lookout, participants are briefed through safety protocol, and receive instruction on the methods and procedures of rappelling, completing a dry run prior to their descent. Participants are then able to rappell down our 65-foot cliff face solo, or if assistance is needed, with the aid of an on-site certified mountaineer.
Rappelling excusions are held every Wednesday, leaving the centre at 9:30am; however, if you are in a group of people of atleast 8 individuals, please feel free to contact us as we may be able to arrange a session at an alternative time of the week, best suited to your needs.
Bookings must be made a minimum of 1 day prior to the scheduled session, either by phone or email. Capacity spans from 8-50 rappellers per session; sessions are subject to cancellation in the case of insufficient number of registerees. As well, sessions are capped at 50 bodies maximum; the earlier you can register your session, the better!

Cost:
$75/adult
$65/child
If you have any inquiries or would like to register for a session or book an alternate session, please feel free to contact us at 250.495.7901 Extension 202 or email marketing@oib.ca
